Good Afternoon,

Roc Searches client, an electronics manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire is currently recruiting for a electronics engineer for a 6-12 month contract.

JOB TITLE: Electronics Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Development

RESPONSIBLE TO: Development Manager

WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH: Development team, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales, Specials, Service, Purchasing, External contractors.

BUDGET ACCOUNTABILITY: None

JOB PURPOSE: To develop and electronics within the range of products.

MAIN DUTIES and OUTCOMES:

The design of temperature control electronics for use in products sold in the North American and European Commercial and Consumer markets.
* Undertake design of cost effective reliable electronic circuits;
* Generation of parts lists;
* Make and test prototypes where relevant;
* Write test specifications, working instructions and service manuals;
* Produce information for technical publications and support the product into routine production;
* Produce and maintain documentation as required by procedures and ISO9001:2015

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education; Degree level with an Electronics degree or equivalent

* Familiarity with and experience of working to relevant standards that may influence the design, production and service of the sold products. Namely: BS EN 61010, BS EN 60335, BS EN 61000, BS EN 61326, FCC 47 part 15, CSA, National Differences
* Design of mains powered temperature control systems up to 3kW
* Understanding of Control Theory and PID systems and evidence of applying this knowledge to real designs.
* Experience of working with Firmware engineers and writing firmware in C or C++ would be useful
* Experience of designing for the low cost, high volume (20,000+ p.a.) market useful
