Senior Principal - Web Security - Permanent - £85,000

Computer Futures are working with a globally known online security company who are based in Reading to find a Senior Principal Developer to join their expanding team.

My client has grown into a Fortune 500 company over the last 30 years. The company has grown into the UK leading web security company. The project is working on the ongoing delivery of a highly scalable cloud based malware scanning service. This technology interprets and analyses 1.8 billion web requests each day.

You will be working with C++ developers of all levels, from mid-level up to experienced senior developers, on exciting new Greenfield projects. One of the extremely experienced female candidates in the team is on the board for C++ at the company. The personality which fits into the team well, is an individual who is collaborative, personable, proactive and passionate about what they are doing, whether it is achieving high quality products or motivating the team.

This role involves both hands on development and a leadership element. The successful candidate will be leading a team of 7 developers. Previous experience in leading a team is essential, showing you have been able to motivate other developers and impalement an AGILE environment.

Essential Skills required:

Educated to a degree level in a relevant subject.

Experience of working within an internet security environment.

Excellent C++ development experience.

Knowledge of OO concepts and their application.

Experience of working within an AGILE development methodology: Scrum/Kanban, continuous integration, self-organising teams.

Experience of system Administration on LINUX/UNIX - knowledge of RPM creation and installation.

Experience of working in a quality-driven engineering process.

Proven ability to lead a team of developers of any size, as well as mentoring more junior developers.

Excellent communication skills.

Must be passionate for security.

Experience of working in a quality-driven engineering process.

Desirable Skills Required:

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of malicious cod including exploit code, buffer overflows, Trojans, viruses.

Working knowledge of internet protocols such as SMTP,HTTP, FTP, TCP/IP and POP3

Knowledge of internet systems, particularly DNS and SSH
