Senior Unix System Administrator (Solaris) - Contract

ECS are currently seeking experienced Unix (Solaris) Consultants in Edinburgh. You will join a team responsible for the migration of existing Solaris workloads onto new hardware. We are looking for Solaris Consultants with previous experience managing or performing Solaris migrations and owning the SOE.

We are looking for experienced Solaris Consultants with a strong hands on technical background in Solaris coupled with experience in a large server estate.

*This role is Edinburgh based however there is an opportunity for some remote work following an initial 10 weeks in Edinburgh.

Skills required:

  • Excellent knowledge of Solaris 8, 9 and 10.
  • Ideally experienced in clustering (preferably Veritas Cluster Services)
  • Good understanding of EMC storage solution with Veritas VM
  • Ability to take responsibility for the successful execution of the SOE.
  • Experience running systems on Sunfire E25K,
  • Knowledge of Solaris virtualisation technologies.
  • Experienced working in the financial sector.
  • Flexible attitude to work and excellent team player.
