Job/Role Description
  • In this role, you will be working with a team of highly trained DBA's to complete a special project in 2016.
  • This will include upgrades, migration, implementation, setting security, management, configuration, performance tuning and optimization and general BAU activities.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate Oracle databases ensuring that systems are running optimally ensuring availability, efficiency and recoverability.
  • Designing, planning and implementation of new Oracle estate
  • Consolidation/expansion of existing services
  • Design and implement monitoring solutions for Oracle databases
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for daily operations.
  • Ability to establish alliances with other teams through recognition of dependencies.
  • Ensure security and privacy policy follows best practices.
  • Acts as an expert technical resource to client and development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process
SKILLS:

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience of administrating Oracle database systems for senior role
  • Oracle Database Specialization
  • Expertise in managing Oracle 10g,11g,12c on Unix platforms
  • Expertise in configuring oracle for HA, cluster, RAC, Dataguard
  • Expertise on Shell Scripting
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and security
  • Expertise in use of tools like OEM, TOAD
  • Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching
  • Exposure to Oracle Engineered Systems such as Exadata and Oracle Database Appliance a bonus
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like BMC Patrol, NewRelic is highly recommended
  • Backup and restore utilities such as RMAN
  • Should be able to automate programs using Shell Scripting, PL/SQL
  • Should be able to troubleshoot using basic Unix commands
  • Handled multiple complex recovery scenarios
  • Service Management expertise using SNow will be considered a plus, but not required.
  • Attention to Detail
  • Possess a keen interest within Oracle technologies by understanding new current/forthcoming versions (eg Oracle 12c R2, OEM 13, etc.)
  • Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges
  • Must have a passion for providing excellent support to all types of users as well as impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess organizational proficiencies to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to interact with multiple levels of personnel within the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/information system/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • ITIL certified - Added advantage.
  • Oracle Database Specialization:
  • Oracle certified professional - Added advantage
  • RAC, OEM, Upgrade & App/DB Migration project experience
  • Advanced level experience in the setup, configuration and maintenance of RAC, OEM and Active Data Guard.
