Corporate Attorney, Investment Banking, Legal Entity, Migration Project, London, 12 months
My client a Tier One Investment Bank is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Attorney to join their team in London to work on a major migration project around Legal entities. Experience of Mergers and Regulation W would be advantageous
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and have detailed coordinated oversight of various legal workstreams involved in a legal entity restructuring project
- Ability to quickly familiarise yourself with the status of the legal workstreams, liaising with relevant line of business in- house counsel, as well as external counsel and project leads, to understand next steps/issues related to the proposed migration of the various entities/businesses.
- Liaising with external project counsel and internal stakeholders on legal workstreams.
- Provide routine status/progress updates to the project leads, and liaise with the project leads to help facilitate the project objectives.
- Closely track external legal spend against approved budgets.
SKILLSET
Skill set in general would be to have ability to quickly gain and communicate to business overall oversight of various legal workstreams to achieve business project objectives of migrating legal entities.
Some particular required skills:
- Very strong negotiation and organisational skills
- Some experience of managing multi-jurisdictional legal projects, including ability to synthesise information from stakeholders to formulate and track actions plans against tight deadlines
- Experience of liaising with multiple external counsel on multiple issues
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to quickly understand and work on a variety of issues to demanding deadlines
- Very strong organisational skills
"Nice to have" would be
- Some regulatory experience, including with US regulation
- Regulation W or other US driven regulatory knowledge
- Prior in-house experience of a merger etc. of your institution or legal entity restructuring.
