Description
We're building a scalable online learning platform composed of reusable server-rendered ReactJS components. We are getting this done with modern tooling such as Elastic Beanstalk, Github pull requests, Slack deployments, SASS, BEM, NPM, Browserify, ES6. If these buzzwords float your boat, you should definitely get in touch!
As a senior engineer you will be responsible for implementing features in a thoughtful and efficient manner. You will have several years of experience in object-oriented PHP and JavaScript, and have opinions about doing things the right way. Although this is a "full stack" position, we're looking for someone with more backend weighting if anything.
The freelance project will last for two months and if everything's going great at the end we probably be happy to discuss a permanent role.
Our products are used by tens of thousands of students, teachers and administrators every day and we are growing rapidly.
The Day to Day:- Support the development of new features from start to finish
- Ship code that impacts customers every day
- Implement automated testing strategies as part of modern, agile practice
- Improve and squash bugs on the existing codebase
- Work closely with our small but talented talented team of engineers, designers and product managers to create a seamless experience for our users
- Generally, get sh*t done
- You're confident with PHP and MVC principals
- Your confident working with JavaScript and modern libraries such as ReactJS
- You've worked alongside a world-class agile development team
- You know your way around a database
BONUS POINTS:
- You're confident using AWS services
- Familiarity with ElasticSearch
- A penchant for craft ale
