EDUCATION/EQUIVALENCY:
- Bachelor's Degree Finance/Financial Management, accounting, economics, or related degree.
CANDIDATE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
- Professional hands-on experience with spreadsheet applications software such as Excel. If your candidate is not able to speak to this experience, they do not have spreadsheet applications software experience. (Required)
- Excellent communication, research and analytical skills. (Required)
- Excellent Word and Excel skills. (Required)
- Professional, hands-on working experience with Report Writing in Cognos BI or a similar reporting tool (ie Business Objects, Hyperion, etc.). Candidates have to have actual experience creating the reports, not just running the reports but has to have experience writing & creating the reports using macros, etc. If your candidate is not able to speak to this experience, they do not have Report Writing experience. (Required)
HIGHLY DESIRED
- Previous hands-on professional working experience with SQL. If your candidate is not able to speak to this experience, they do not have the experience.
- Previous hands-on professional working experience with DB2. If your candidate is not able to speak to this experience, they do not have the experience.
- Previous hands-on professional working experience with Access. If your candidate is not able to speak to this experience, they do not have the experience.
DAILY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, write & maintain reports in Cognos, Access and Excel
- Perform analysis of data in Access and Excel
- Maintain in house models
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SYSTEM(S) THE CONTRACTOR WILL INTERACT WITH/BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Cognos BI, Access, Excel, SharePoint, Word, DB2, SQL Server
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- 30% -- Performs financial or business analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense reporting, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments and accounts receivable.
- 10% -- Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analyses.
- 15% -- Utilizing computer systems and software, compiles and prepares reports, graphs, and charts of data developed. Serves as a systems administrator.
- 15% -- Assists in the development of business policies, conducts special financial and business related studies and cooperates with other departments in the preparation of analyses.
- 10% -- Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- 10% -- Interprets financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
- 05% -- Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
- 05% -- Trains new hires and other department associates on how to use reports and/or systems.
Behavior Characteristics:
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. Able to compile information, design reports performs research and analyze data. Knowledge of group financial statements.
