We are currently looking for a VMWare System Administrator for my client based in Brussels, Belgium.
Job Summary:
Administer VMware ESX/VSphere infrastructure
Virtual Machine management
Managing and Troubleshooting ESX Servers
Strong Knowledge on troubleshooting skills on Windows server & VMware
Strong Knowledge on VMware management tools
Knowledge on Remote system administration
Troubleshooting the incidents & problems reported on the Servers
Provide the root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems
To carry out the scheduled activities like Patch Management, Server reboot, Etc
Patch management and Virus Management
H/W troubleshooting & Vendor coordination
Firmware & BIOS upgrade
Understanding of capacity planning, performance Monitoring and tuning.
Hand-on knowledge on various RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5 etc.)
Should have Scripting (PERL/Shell) knowledge for scripted installs, Comfortable with using Virtual Center.
Working knowledge on Linux environment
Sound knowledge of SAN environment
Contribute to internal knowledge management system
Carry out user management activities
Generating regular reports
Ready to work in 24x7
Skills:
7+ years of Experience in System administration
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal Skills.

Ø ESX/VSphere OS Performance tuning & management
Ø ESX/VSphere Hardware Upgrade, OS Upgrade
Ø VMware File system upgrade (VMFS Volumes)
Ø VMware ESX Server Migration (2.x to 3.x/3.0 to 3.x or 4.0,)
Ø Storage allocation to Guest
Ø ESX/VSphere HA Configuration & Administration
Ø VMware DRS Configuration & administration
Ø VMware Data store Management
Ø OS & Software Depot Management
Ø Reporting Performance status
Ø Reviewing ESX server performance
Ø Restricting root access to ESX
Ø Enabling external Authentication
