Contract Length: 132 Working Days (4- 5 Months)
Clearance Level Required: Non police personnel vetting (nppv) level 3 + Security Clearance (willing to undergo)
We are currently looking for an experienced Press Officer for a 5 month contract within the public sector based in London. The ideal candidate should have a strong press office experience, excellent verbal communication, public sector experience and expertise in social media platforms
Holding an Security Clearance will be advantageous with this role although candidates willing to undergo this will be considered.
Essential Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including accurate use of language and grammar
Proven ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
Experience of working in a public sector and/or policing environment
Excellent negotiating and networking skills, able to form beneficial working relationships internally and externally
Excellent team working skills and able to work flexibly
Degree or equivalent experience
Successful experience of delivering a broad range of press and media relations services within an organisation
Experience of delivering crisis management communications to protect organisational reputation
Experience of using social media and maximising benefits of social media channels
Experience in using media databases to support effective delivery of media relations activity
Desirable Experience
Ability to negotiate and influence internal customers up to senior management levels with conflicting priorities
Strong political acumen and understanding of current affairs and political issues
Proven creativity in developing campaigns that will engage and interest external stakeholders
