Oracle Developer contractA leading international Insurance company are looking to add an Oracle Developer to their database team for a 6-12 month contract. The company are going through a large Oracle migration project in partnership with a consultancy; this involves several upgrades to key infrastructure. After some initial work, the team may be expanded, this is dependent on the amount of work, it's a 1 round face-to-face interview. If you are abroad then you will need to fly in to attend this interview.
Role: Oracle Developer
Duration: 6-12 months daily rate contract
Location: Cork
Start date: 2 weeks after interview
X-Factor: Excellent opportunity for a long extension.
Day to DayYour main role will be working on the 12c upgrade within the company, at the start there are 200 packages to compile alongside the batch jobs. You are also directing the construction of procedures, triggers, and PL/SQL blocks. They will be overhauling the permissions overview, refactoring the code as the upgrade to 12c happens. You be migrating code to 12c and doing performance tuning by optimising the code. You will be based full time onsite and there is no home working. You will also be doing various ad hoc tasks as they come up with the team.
Skills/Experience:3 years+ experience delivering solutions, working with:
- PL/SQL 10g or 11g or 12c
- Migration experience
- Unix/Shell scripting
- Performance tuning
- Good communicator and ability to work by yourself
Desirable Experience:
- Powerbuilder experience
- Web development experience
- Oracle certification
