Ios Developer - Contract - Dublin
Join a massively respected IT company in Dublin CC. 6 month rolling contract. Developers like it here, excellent environment. Seeking an iOS developer/objective-c responsible for the development and maintenance of applications targeting devices including iOS tablets and Chromebooks. Your primary focus will be development of iOS applications and their integration with Back End services. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers in an Agile development framework who may be working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.
Responsibilities
- You will have solid technical engineering background with excellent people management abilities. Working within an "Agile" Development Environment, the candidate will become part of a team of Software Engineers, working with cutting edge technology across multiple platforms.
- Maintain and build applications for iOS platform
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
- Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automatization
- Provide technical leadership around the delivery of component design and development
- Work with the wider team to interpret the requirements for a product/program and provide technical solutions; provides estimates of work for technical implementation
- Co-ordination of both external vendors and internal engineers
- Assist in defining structured practices in software development, source code management, build and release management where necessary or adherence to current practices
- Weekly Reporting to Senior Management
- Work closely with the team to solve problems, transfer knowledge, and develop overall product architecture, where required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable industry experience
Skills
- Minimum 5 year's commercial development experience
- Proven level of proficiency with Objective-C.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- In-depth understanding with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to Back End services.
- Experience of other web technologies and UI/UX standards.
- Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines.
- Must have proven understanding of project tracking and Software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Test Driven Development)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial or SVN.
- Experience with continuous integration.
- Experience with Javascript Frameworks
Preferred:
- Experience in managing off-shore technical development partners
- Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
- Experience in leading mobile application development teams (iOS and Android)
- Chrome Packaged Application Development
