Within Products, Processes, Programmes and Operations (P3&O) the PLM Programme Team are responsible for delivery of projects that drive business improvements through business process re-engineering and technical tool delivery. Specifically the i-PLM programme is a transformational project focused on introducing a step change in business efficiency for the product creation process within the company, its suppliers and International Operations.
Key responsibilities:
This position is part of a team responsible for the deployment of tools supporting BOM (Bill of Material) solutions and will involve the following activities:
- Support Business improvement projects
- Support Solution deployment
- Support Software testing
- Support Methods development
- Support Integration to the rest of the PLM solution
- End user support
The BOM Solutions team have to understand current business practices and processes and deliver new solutions to replace existing Legacy tools. This must be within the framework of the i-PLM architecture and has to ensure complete business continuity during transition from Legacy to new toolsets. You will need to perform in a support role on all new applications as an essential part of the role is the guiding, teaching and support end users.
You may be required to work closely with software providers to advance software BOM solutions through benchmarking, software developments and testing of new releases to ensure robust deployment.
You will need to be capable of good project management discipline in delivery of business efficiency projects that drive process improvement in terms of cost, quality or time compression for the product development process.
As part of the introduction of business improvement projects you may be required to provide end-user support, develop and document "best-practice" methods logically and succinctly, be capable of training Engineers and promote the use of published methodologies to functional areas within the product creation process.
It is essential that BOM information is accurate as it drives many areas of the business, knowledge in the use of validation techniques to ensure information is accurate and support the downstream needs of the business is an advantage.
The successful candidate should possess or have experience of the following:
- Degree level in terms of educational background is preferred.
- Experience of supporting projects in a recognized project management framework (preferred).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence a can do attitude (essential).
- Have the confidence to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment (essential).
- Demonstrate the ability to support the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment (essential).
- Awareness of Requirement gathering testing, verification and validation techniques and the ability to assess solution change requests (preferred).
- Possess good IT skills and be fluent in Powerpoint and Excel (essential).
- Experience in some or all of the following PLM technical domains/technology is preferable: Bill of Information management, Product configuration and Business/Engineering change management techniques.
