Description

I'm currently recruiting for a QA Engineer on a contract basis working for a client of mine based in central London. It is a three month rolling contract however from working with them historically they do typically keep contractors on for a long time. This vacancy has come around due to a heavy workload so they're looking to get someone started straight away.

In the role you will be joining a team working with a number of javascript based frameworks. Preferably you will have created automated test with one or more javascript framework i.e. Mocha, Jasmine, Protractor, WebDriver JS, Nightwach. Solid experience using Selenium WebDrvier and an object orientated programming language is also key.

    • Testing practices
    • Writing automated tests in an Object Oriented Programming language
    • Experience working collaboratively with Engineers of various disciplines to help the team
    • achieve its goals
    • Hands-on experience testing web sites across a variety of operating systems, browsers and devices
    • Utilising a BDD approach to execute test plans and develop suitable test cases
    • Following the testing processes and practices within an agile software development team
    • Using a test-first approach to create automated unit, integration, acceptance and
    • performance tests
    • Thoroughly testing new functionality, performing manual and automated, functional and
    • non-functional, cross-browser testing
    • Collaborating with Software Engineers to continuously improve the testability and
    • robustness of the codebase
    • . Good understanding of QA methodologies - You have a good understanding of different test
    • techniques and test types; you have a good understanding of defect management
    • . Cross-browser testing experience - You have solid experience performing cross-browser
    • testing (across both the desktop and mobile devices); you know what are the typical
    • challenges of ensuring cross-browser compatibility; you have experience with tools that will
    • help with executing test cases across a variety browsers and you know how to investigate
    • the root cause of issues when you encounter them
    • . Test Automation experience - You have solid experience of writing automated tests using
    • Selenium WebDriver and an object oriented programming language (e.g. Java, .NET, Python,
    • Ruby)
    • . Good understanding of web technologies - You are comfortable with HTML, CSS, JavaScript;
    • you have a good understanding of how HTTP works; you have a good understanding of how
    • browsers render HTML pages
