QAD / Progress Developer - Near Chester with 3 days remote - £300/day - ContractMy client, a leading manufacturing firm based near Chester, are looking to bring on a QAD / Progress specialist to work on a system to be used in their warehouses. Operating off a mobile / hand held device, they need an application that can conduct tasks such as inventory transfers, inquiries, pallet printing etc.
This hand held device will have a basic front end developed by the contractor, before sending the information to the QAD / Progress ERP system. They will be using Cimload as well in the process. Finally they need to be able to run queries to the QAD systems.
They have been looking at using RF Express for this, but would now like something with similar functionality (in certain areas), but not using this - however a knowledge of RF Express would definitely be helpful.
The key things that they are looking for are:
- QAD
- Progress
- Ideally some data capture from a mobile / hand held device
- Some understanding of RF Express
- Some understanding of QXTend
- Experience working on a similar project to the above
This is a 6 month contract, with the application set to go live within this time period. You will need to have development experience, working on the application in depth, liaising with the business accordingly.
Due to the location, they are happy to offer flexibility on working on site - up to 3 days remote working - and are happy to pay up to £300/day for the right person (though some flexibility on this if remote days are needed would be preferred).
The role needs to start ASAP, but they could wait for the right person (such as 4 weeks' notice if applicable).
