Description

DevOps Team Lead - Linux, Jenkins, Chef is required by my client who is based in London.

Required Skills

  • Experience leading a team of DevOps specialists either in a project or as a delivery team
  • Experience in release engineering, DevOps and/or configuration management
  • Strong knowledge working with code repositories and management tools. Git, Github.
  • Strong experience with configuration and deployment management tools in particular Chef.
  • Skill with one or more Scripting languages - Ruby is a must and others eg Bash, Python preferable
  • Experience automating release and build processes using Jenkins
  • Good Linux skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Agile methodology experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of DevOps specialists
  • Provide technical leadership for DevOps concepts and tools
  • Oversee workload allocation for a team of DevOps specialists
  • Provide hands on technical oversight
  • Identify, own and drive resolution to technical blockers and issues
  • Provide hands on guidance on the best technical solutions
  • Communication of complex technical problem in simple terms
  • Resolving problems and leading in team in problem solving
  • Build, support and improve our tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management
  • Manage and improve clients release processes
  • Leverage, build and maintain state of the art build tools

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in technical release roles
  • At least 2 years experience of leading technical teams
  • At least 3 years experience in DevOps tools such as Chef, Ansible, Jenkins
  • Background in resolution of technical issues and managing teams to success
