Description
DevOps Team Lead - Linux, Jenkins, Chef is required by my client who is based in London.
Required Skills
- Experience leading a team of DevOps specialists either in a project or as a delivery team
- Experience in release engineering, DevOps and/or configuration management
- Strong knowledge working with code repositories and management tools. Git, Github.
- Strong experience with configuration and deployment management tools in particular Chef.
- Skill with one or more Scripting languages - Ruby is a must and others eg Bash, Python preferable
- Experience automating release and build processes using Jenkins
- Good Linux skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Agile methodology experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of DevOps specialists
- Provide technical leadership for DevOps concepts and tools
- Oversee workload allocation for a team of DevOps specialists
- Provide hands on technical oversight
- Identify, own and drive resolution to technical blockers and issues
- Provide hands on guidance on the best technical solutions
- Communication of complex technical problem in simple terms
- Resolving problems and leading in team in problem solving
- Build, support and improve our tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management
- Manage and improve clients release processes
- Leverage, build and maintain state of the art build tools
Required Experience
- At least 5 years experience in technical release roles
- At least 2 years experience of leading technical teams
- At least 3 years experience in DevOps tools such as Chef, Ansible, Jenkins
- Background in resolution of technical issues and managing teams to success
