Senior DevOps Engineer
Next Ventures are currently looking for 2/3 Senior DevOps Engineers to join an interesting greenfield project for our client in NYC (or remote).
The Role:
Our client have recently adopted DevOps methodologies and need to expand this culture throughout the company. They are slowly building up their automation and CI/CD but need Senior DevOps Engineers to come on board and take control of this process. Successful candidates will need to collaborate across multiple skill sets of developers & engineers in two Scrum Teams and will mentor these members to further develop their technical knowledge and skills.
- Maintain, update and design the new DevOps Environment
- Supporting and Scripting as part of the DevOps automation processes/operations
- Manage Config. Management software and Systems
- Collaborate with other teams to research, develop, design and implement new services and the systems to support them
- This is a hands-on role but as part of the new DevOps team you'll be required to train and mentor those around you
Key Qualifications

Excellent full stack system-level thinking

5+ years of relevant experience

Familiar with Agile/Scrum process

Experience with Windows and Linux administration

Expert in Scripting languages (Powershell, Python, bash)

Experience with Configuration Management and Desired State (Ansible/DSC)

Experience with Continuous Integration platforms (Teamcity/Jenkins)

Familiar with version control technologies (SVN/Git) and best practices (branching/merging/rebasing)

Familiar with Continuous Delivery and Deployment

Experience with Amazon Web Services

Experience supporting large, complex and evolving distributed web apps (ASP.NET)

Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting platforms (Splunk/Nagios/Cloudwatch)

Experience with message queueing platforms (RabbitMQ, Kafka)

Experience with Relational (MSSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) Databases in a high-availability, clustered environment

Passion for DevOps
Details:
- Working in Brooklyn, NY or remote
- Start ASAP (14 th or 21 st March)
- Rates DOE
- Duration 3 months with a view to extend (contract-hire is an option)
