Domain knowledge:
Has a good handle on multiple asset classes
Equities
Options
Futures/Forwards
Fixed income (esp. bonds)
Structured finance & alternative assets (insurance)
Mutual funds, private equity, hedge funds
Trade lifecycle (including trade flow, settlement and clearing)
Knowledge of general risk measures
The Greeks
General understanding of how derivatives are priced would be a big plus but not required
Knowledge of Compliance/Regulatory areas would be a big plus but not mandatory
Technology side:
A scripting language proficiency (Python, Ruby, etc.)
Understanding of data feed handling (ETL, market data, trade files, etc.)
Best practices for handling volume, frequency, etc.
Software and Enterprise patterns (esp. Enterprise Integration patterns)
Good understanding of open source technologies and components
Soft Skills:
Excellent Communication and presentation skills; ability to engage in white-boarding and brain storming exercises in client facing meetings
Comfortable with working in a multi-disciplinary globally distributed team across different time zones.
Assertive technical personality who can drive the solutions build up and engage with the Delivery and Sales support teams to drive the proposal and solution emergence till the end.
Ability to balance requirements, manage expectations, and drive effective results using a proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving issues
Experience presenting to customers, senior technical and executive audiences
Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
Effective collaboration and teamwork skills both internally and externally
Have a high level of entrepreneurship and creativity
Sound problem-solving skills with ability to quickly process complex information and present it in a clear and simple manner
Comfortable with 15 % travel in a month to meet clients and engage in white boarding sessions or as part of proposal defense.
Technical Requirements:
Should have at least 7 to 10 years of software development experience with progressive growth with total experience between 12 to 15 years.
Strong handle on J2EE/.Net technologies, Ability to do code-walk through, support effort estimations and mentor junior and senior developers.
Good understanding of portal solution abstraction, middle wares, exposure to multiple Databases (Relational, NoSQL).
Experience in some of the Industries such as Education, Media, Publishing, Retail, etc.
Actual Implementation experience on some of the solutions like web applications. Portals, DWH or building a reporting platforms.
Good handle on API management, Integration aspects of Portals with backend databases.
Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks like TOGAF/ZACHMAN
Strong understanding of Dev Ops, Agile, Big data & Analytics platforms (conceptual level) and any experience on any of these a plus.
Expertize at an intermediate level on front end technologies like HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular.JS, Node.JS, Bootstrap, etc.
Enthusiasm for, and experience in, open source development
Expertise in developing strategies for high availability platforms including caching techniques, distributed computing, and horizontally scalable solutions
Demonstrated understanding of OO design patterns, MVC, scalable architectures and infrastructures, applications, and interfaces
End to End conceptual understanding of Front End/Back end/Middle Tier Technologies and the concepts of API ecosystem, Micro Services, Cloud Architecture, etc.
