Your New role :-

Delivering the new Workplace consists of both delivering a new infrastructure and the set of applications that run on it. For the applications to run appropriately, each customer needs to establish a software catalogue and identify how the application should be installed (packaged) to run on the new infrastructure. As every application has its constraints, it is important that detailed installation instructions are drafted by an application specialist or owner. In the past, our customer used to take responsibility over collecting those installation requirements, configuration details, issue debugging, etc... In the new workplace, our customer will limit its activities to delivering the infrastructure and the requested packages, thereby leaving the installation requirements specification to the customer. This is gradual change process, for which TandT will assist the customers during the project phase. This is the role of the Application Intake SME. The Application Intake SME should help the customer to write the appropriate software installation documentation. That is e.g:
- Identify application owners
- Write the extended installation documentation (screenshots, step-by-step setup actions...)
- Identify application dependencies
- Identify application settings
- Identify backend requirements
- Identify application key persons (owners, technical support, vendor support)
- Ability to package applications using standard tools

This input will be used TandT backend teams to:
- Initiating the application packaging request
- Determining the target environment (SBC, FAT, VDI)
- Store the information in the service catalogue
- Evaluate installation requests, software upgrades, license management, etc. Further business as usual processes, such as access request, incident management, licensing management, application life cycle management, usage reporting, etc... Will rely on the information initially collected at the intake phase.
