Description

My client is a leading Pharmaceutical company with offices worldwide. They are looking for an energetic and innovative individual to join their IT technical team in a Windows 10 team lead role. This role would suit any individual looking to further their career with a leading company who will look fantastic on any CV.

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead a team of Web Application Coordinators and will ensure that performance and conduct of the team will contribute to the project.

Background:

The client has launched the project for the global Windows 10 migration and is seeking support for the project initiation and define phase. Extension of the role past these phases desired if candidate is a good fit.

The following items will be upgraded:
* Windows 7 to Windows 10
* Internet Explorer 10 to Internet Explorer 11
* Microsoft Office 2010 to Microsoft Office 2016

This translates to an impact on the company globally (all sites and business functions). Furthermore the project is expected to have many dependencies to other Business and IT Functions that need to be identified and managed accordingly.

Within the project, the Application Readiness Workstream is handling all business application-related topics around the migration. It consists of packaged and web applications compatibility testing and remediation support as well as support for locally installed and MS Office application readiness assessment.

The role is to cover the following aspects:
* Coordinate a team Web Application Coordinators
* Ensures the Web Application Coordinators are understand their roles and responsibility
* Escalation point for testing coordinators, change directors and application owners during the testing period
* Contribute to the test plan, test strategy, remediation plan and strategy when required
* Report progress and issues to Global Web Application Management Lead
* Deputize Global Web Application Management Lead when required
* Ensures coordination based on the results of scope, timeline and testing procedure
* Interface between whole Web Application Management team and Remediation team (based in Madrid)
* Liaison with Portfolio and Release Manager, Remediation team and Engineering
* Candidate is expected to support the Web App testing process and responsible for the Madrid team to deliver results according the timeline and scope.
* It is expected from the candidate to lead the team of Web Application Coordinators (external consultants) and ensures that performance will be adequately managed. Issues must be addresses immediately and reported to the Global Web Application Management Lead.
* Candidate is able to prioritize based on urgency of the topic and to support the team and project accordingly
* The Candidate will work closely with the Web Application team lead, Change Director and Business Application Owner.

Working language is English. High proficiency in working virtually is a must.
Home Office work an option up to 20%, prior approval required. Main work location will be in Madrid-Spain

Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Work closely together with other members inside the application readiness workstream
* Ensure the web app testing is executed according planned timelines
* Ensure that all Office apps and manual installed apps can be tested on the target platform
* Management reporting and escalation
* Preparation and follow-up of escalations
* Attendance and representation of the Madrid Web Application Team
* Deputy of Global Web Application Management Lead
* SPOC for all Web Application Coordinator team in Madrid
* Contribute to the communication regarding testing and remediation
* ensures proper management of the Project Stream mailbox (review, assign, label e-mails as required)

Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in people management
* Former experience in migration/deployment projects (eg rollout projects)
* Solid technical understanding of OS, MS Office apps and manual installation processes
* Working independently and proactive, used to work without direct supervision
* Structured way of working with a strong focus on teamwork.
* Experience in virtual, international team settings
* Good communicator, able to connect to different stakeholders on different levels. Able to create a fast working relationship with the global team and other stakeholders like Change Director, Application Owners and the Engineering team.
* ITIL Foundation certification or relevant experience in Service Management
* Business-fluid in English, both verbally and in writing

Nice to Have:
+++ Background in application testing, ideally test management esp. for migration readiness
++ Microsoft Office knowledge, strong Windows 7 or 10 skills
+ Previous experience working in a pharmaceutical company/environment
+ Spanish and/or German

Traveling might be required to Basel/Kaiseraugst occasionally.
