Proteus Europe is searching for a Database Administrator for a client in Middlesex. This is a permanent position we are looking for candidates for.Our Client :-
A recognised global organisation in the aerospace industry and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of aircraft recording systems
Your New role :-
The principal responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to:
- To enhance and maintain the existing application SQL Server databases
- To analyse data requirements and produce data models and designs for new applications and provide data analysis for database enhancements
- To implement new/enhanced database models by transforming the logical data models into a physical database, with regard to performance, ease of use and maintainability
- To provide, test and implement the Database Interfaces (e.g. Stored Procedures and Views) required by the applications
- Provide help to the support personnel in the field
- Support and maintain in-house SQL Server applications
- To work within the development team and provide any necessary support
Your Skills and experience :-
Essential Skills :-
- Have experience of SQL Server development projects, with responsibility for database development
- Be conversant with Data Analysis and Modelling to 3NF (Third Normal Form)
- Understand the processes and considerations involved when producing a physical database from a logical data model
- Be able to create Stored Procedures to satisfy application requirements
- Have an understanding of the security issues to be considered when implementing SQL Server systems
- Have experience of the maintenance and enhancement of existing databases and the installation of new databases
- Be accustomed to working as part of a team
- Have good communication skills (both written and verbal). Be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel and customers
Desirable Skills :-
- Experience of SQL Server Business Intelligence services - e.g. Reporting Services
- Experience of .NET Development
- Experience of day-to-day support of in-house systems
- Experience of design and development of commercial software
