Description

Harris Grant is looking for an on-the-ball Drupal Developer who thinks outside the box. This is a remote position so your ability to work with team members from a remote setting is key. Our ideal developer should have demonstrable knowledge of Drupal Core, with an interest in Drupal 8 to help us bring our existing sites to that platform. Using your skills to give back to the Drupal community is a plus.

Responsibility:

  • Provide technical feedback and guidance on site design.
  • Independently research and document technical design options.
  • Communicate options, implications, and reasoning to other team members.
  • Plan, document, and implement a robust enterprise Drupal implementation that meets current functional, design, and technical requirements, and is capable of scaling to anticipated future requirements.
  • Create administration management plans (user management, site/template management, etc).
  • Identify and implement custom programming and web application development as necessary to meet requirements
  • Testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing client sites .
  • Contributing ideas and efforts toward projects and working as part of a team to find solutions to various problems (i.e. development platforms, documentation, etc).
  • Ability to work as part of a team, understanding problems from another team member’s perspective, and, when necessary, go above and beyond the job description to work towards a broader team goal

    Experience:

  • 2+ years + experience with Drupal 7.
  • General Web Developer 4+ years experience with knowledge and experience with PHP and MySQL, JavaScript and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
  • Experience working with a team (including a creative director, project manager, designer and other developers) to create websites and web applications.
  • Experience and ability to lead migration from existing WebSphere Portal to Drupal.
  • Proven ability developing Drupal websites from initial installation through configuration and themes.
  • Drupal Themer experience with knowledge / Utilization of the following themes: Bootstrap.
  • Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Drupal Module Developer experience with knowledge of Web Services, LAMP Stack environment.
  • Experience developing PHP applications within LAMP environment.
  • Experience and expertise with Drupal content management systems.
  • Experience enhancing the performance of high-traffic sites.
  • Solid abilities with standards compliant HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  • Proficient in Drupal, including custom module development, key contributed modules and the core API.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and familiar with major JavaScript libraries.
  • Proficient in the maintenance and administration of Drupal modules and sites.
  • Proficient in hand-coding HTML.
  • Thorough understanding and proven implementation of Web Standards.
  • Experience integrating open source and third party applications into existing systems.
  • The ability to work within existing infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with open source software.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as Subversion.
  • Good understanding of Web optimization principles.
  • Great creative problem solving skills.
  • Involvement in and contributions to the Drupal community.
