The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain Perl programs which are written for web applications and data manipulation.
OVERVIEW OF MAIN DUTIES
- To develop web applications using the Perl programming language in a Debian Linux environment.
- To maintain web applications that have been written in the Perl programming language.
- To manipulate data using Perl for data integration with other systems.
- To test developed systems alongside other colleagues to check functionality and behaviour.
- Any other appropriate duties as specified by the Corporate Information Systems Manager
KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Working knowledge of Perl programming language in a linux environment for web application development and data manipulation
- Knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJs, Bootstrap, XML, HTML and CSS.
- Ability to write documentation appropriate to the audience.
- A practical level of administration experience within Linux and Windows environments.
- Understanding of the security/data protection implications when working on business critical systems.
- Knowledge of current accessibility standards and usability best practice for web development.
