Description

My client, a leading international software company, are currently recruiting for a UX/UI Designer to join their innovative team in Galway city.

You will be responsible for researching, creating and developing concepts and wireframes for multi-form factor (including Smart Phones, tablets and wearables) application design during pre-sales and post-sales delivery phases.

Main requirements:

  • Synthesizing user and stakeholder needs, you will work on the structure and behaviour of client applications.
  • You will understand user-centred design activities which can apply to enhancements or new interaction and interface designs.
  • You will work in a technical environment with clients and developers and have responsibility to ensure usability and accessibility.
  • Be able to recommend and deliver approaches to meeting client needs. This includes estimating and facilitating client workshops.
  • Projects can be short (ideation and prototyping) but may also cover three to eighteen months working with clients in various industries in various technologies.
  • This position requires problem-solving, client interaction and travel to various client sites.

In this role you will:

  • Design and lead interactive and interface design solutions for screen-based software applications and systems
  • Stay current and proficient in advanced user-centred design techniques and methodologies
  • Plan, validate, and implement research methods to test interactive and interface design data
  • Lead in the development of personas and journey maps
  • Analyse, evaluate, describe, and report results to stakeholders
  • Problem-solve for work flows as well as information architecture and drive innovation
  • Collaborate with management, development teams and clients to ensure product success
  • Design, develop and implement changes to products or services to improve design
  • Learn technical environment to balance user, stakeholder and technical needs
  • Contribute to proposal responses and business development.
  • Contribute to interactive design pattern library such as Axure, Balsamiq or iRise templates
  • May represent the UX capability to clients and present solutions at oral presentations
  • Contribute to building the UX capability
  • Mentor and cross-train with central UX team

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in User Interface Design, Information Design, or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in user experience design field
  • Experience with responsive web, mobile and desktop formats
  • Portfolio of examples required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with user experience design for multiple clients
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Can handle multiple projects or requests and deliver results
  • Understanding of research and design activities and techniques
  • Enjoys advisory and consulting engagements; working with ambiguity
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
  • Strong consulting and relationship management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and sell the value of UX
  • Knowledge of interaction tools such as Axure, Balsamiq or iRise
  • Working knowledge of design and UI development tools (Creative Suite, CSS, HTML5) (willingness to quickly grasp the UWP apps design approach)
  • Understanding of technologies to solution an effective user experience
  • Ability to travel sporadically to client sites approximately 50%
