Job Purpose/Summary

The UX Designer delivers the user centered design and user research process for large-scale client facing digital projects across public sector, financial services and commercial projects across the UK. The UX Designer is the voice of the user within project teams, working closely with the creative designer, UI developers and the IT team to perform research and analysis to determine user expectations and needs. The candidate will have experience delivering UX across digital projects and will have the skills and breadth of knowledge to hit the ground running.

The candidate will have the autonomy to drive UX forward in the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with project teams and stakeholders to identify and communicate audience needs
  • You will be in charge of decisions that shape the various project from a UX perspective
  • Produce thorough explorations of possible UX solutions
  • Understand what makes an experience good or bad and be able to think through problems and find the solution
  • Perform research and communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and management
    • User stories
    • Prototypes (lo-FI and hi-FI)
    • Wireframes and flows
    • Design specifications
    • Qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate ideas and perform user testing
    • Has an in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards, using research, data, UA theories and methods to support and clearly present recommendations and findings.
    • Transform research into actionable recommendations that are clearly articulated for the development team to continue with their work.
    • Present design concepts/user journey flows to team members and management
    • Create static and active mock-ups of the user interface for omni-channel experiences
    • Able to clearly communicate to the business what UX is, why we need it and how to implement it.
    • Has a solid understanding of end users, marketplace and competitors. Monitoring and evaluating best practice usability analysis.
    • Highly developed communication capabilities
    • Highly organised and can adapt quickly in a changing digital landscape
    • Manage your own time and communicate clearly with project leads, acting as a consultant; on time, on budget, no surprises
