Dev Ops Engineer
Our client, a large government organisation in Southampton, are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team.
the client is looking to supplement an existing platform team. This team builds and installs environments for the in house 'Generalisation' service.
The resource will be required to:
*Develop automated deployment solutions for infrastructure requirements using Puppet language and toolset.
*Utilise tools such as Puppet, Vagrant, Git and Jenkins as part of Continuous Integration process for puppet code and project deliverables.
*Demonstrable Windows and Linux systems engineering experience in a complex virtualised environment.
*Utilise tools such as Puppet, Vagrant, Git and Jenkins as part of Continuous Integration process for puppet code and project deliverables.
*Have the ability to develop in a short period of time, intermediate working knowledge of company applications, deployment support policies and procedures.
*Take initiative in discovering existing and new challenges pertaining to build and deployment, seeking to improve, resolve, and streamline tools and processes to meet delivery challenges
*Work closely with both development and other operations teams and demonstrate a commitment to their success
*Represent the infrastructure team in the technical community, which can include participating in their Agile project teams
*Demonstrate a passion and commitment towards advancing automation and obtaining buy-in to our approach from operations
Experience
*Writing high quality usable Scripting in language such as Ruby, Python, Ruby-on-rails, PowerShell or Unix/OS X Shell Scripts.
*Hands on Experience with WebLogic and Puppet.
*A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
*Must have a service-oriented attitude with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and highly focused.
*Ability to thrive in a changing environment.
*Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple priorities.
