We are seeking an experienced Lead UX/UI Designer as we ramp development for the next major release of a new B2B web/mobile portal application. The end users are executives, sales and operating management and staff in manufacturing and wholesale/distribution environments, requiring simple, understandable, goal directed design. The ideal candidate brings an acute understanding of current design trends in both websites, web apps and native mobile applications as well as experience and sensibility in the balance between ease of learning and ease of use. Experience in consumer applications is a plus, but experience in business applications is a must.
While this position is initially freelance it has the potential to develop into contract work.
Punctuality, prompt communication, reliability and high standard of professionalism a must.
The freelance work will initially focus on:
- Detailed review of the portal application
- Development of UX/UI concepts for the application
- Development of content within the application for demonstration purposes
- Narrowing to selection of preferred design approach
The second phase will focus on:
- Execution of design specifications and elements
- Establish/specify design standards to carry forward into future development
- Participation in agile/scrum sprints in executing UX/UI
Required Skills:
- Translation of complex functionality/information presentation to simple, usable interfaces
- Wire-framing (either pencil / paper or apps)
- Photoshop, Illustrator and/or preferred design tools
- A big plus: HTML5 / CSS (or LESS or SASS), responsive
- A big plus: Familiarity with available Reporting, Charting widgets
- Native mobile design (iOS)
