Graduate Trading and Shipping Finance Analyst: Global Energy Trading Company

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Trading and Shipping Finance Analyst to report directly into the Team Lead of Shipping Finance Services and be responsible for providing support to the Freight Trading and Shipping organisations.

About the Role:

Assist with all period end close issues.
Ensure contractual recoveries are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with agreed procedures and service standards for LNG and Shipping Services Division
Administer Shipping Services Timewriting Projects.
Recover costs incurred by the company of behalf of LNG Vessel Owners.
Ensure that month end processes are carried out accurately and completed within deadlines.
Provide cover within the team as and when required
Operate effective and appropriate systems and procedures, identifying opportunities for enhancements and ensuring ongoing SOX compliance.
Strictly adhere to all relevant controls within this role.
Undertake Ad hoc duties as required.
Role will support Freight trading settlements in finance operations Chennai
To ensure accurate P&L monitor all freight trading vessels and calculate voyage in progress for each vessel.
Allocate time charter costs to voyages and reconcile to hire paid.
Manage and account for all vessels time chartered out.

About You:

Knowledge of Ship Trading and OTS contract recovery processes advantageous.
Excellent and proven written and oral communication skills required.
Good awareness of underlying business, financial and fiscal issues with respect to shipping and STN.
Accounting knowledge and experience of Back Office processes and procedures highly advantageous.
Proven ability to work pro-actively and without supervision.
PC literate, including MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
Proven ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Good awareness of underlying business, financial and fiscal issues with respect to energy/commodity trading and shipping.
Demonstrate best practice behaviours.
Possess a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all cultures both within the organisation and with external customers.
Proven ability to effectively challenge whilst remaining customer focused.
Demonstrable team working skills

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
