Job Description:
  • Fulfill technological design on welding, supply technological support for our company, and ensure technological documentations are accurate, complete and uniform to ensure the successful execution of construction welding activities.
  • Coordinates all welding activities, including project and technical management of any deviations or non-conformance reports (NCRs) and qualifications.
  • Ensure welding program meets appropriate requirements of applicable codes and contract requirements.
  • Develop procedures to support compliance of welding and heat treatment activities with code requirements.
  • Develop weld procedures (WPS) to meet code and technical requirements for welding and PWHT of materials to be welded in construction and repair of contracted activities.
  • Ensure WPS are supported by appropriate procedure qualifications as required to meet code and standard

Requirements. Support Field welding activities, including:
1. Provision of weld procedures
2. Planning of welding activities
3. Resolution of non-conformances
4. Support on heat treatment activities

  • Identification of new weld and ancillary processes, and development and implementation of those processes into field activities.
  • Ensures that all existing welding processes and procedures and qualifications are audited regularly and new processes are used only after validation and approval.
  • Co-ordinates activities related to Common Arc testing, including maintenance and communication of welder updates and continuity, and common arc test dates and locations.
  • Upholds and participates in the company's quality and EHS programs, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Preparation and review of welding documentation.
  • Review of welding (WPS and welder qualifications) and heat treatment documentation from sub-contractor sources.
  • Preparation of welding-related company specifications
  • Provision of welding and material-related support to job sites.
  • Order execution activities involving design, selection, qualification, approval and submission of weld procedures.
  • Review and comment of customer specifications for RFQ support.
  • Failure analysis involving welding.
  • Investigation of jobsite and/or supplier welding problems.
  • Ensuring product and process quality for welding related items according to and company specifications and technical requirements.
  • Be responsible for preparing technical documentation on the welding program development.
  • Support other activities with Welding Engineering support as required.
  • Develop, and present weld training programs and courses to support the weld program.
  • Answer for technological efficiency review of products design, prepare technological schemes on welding, and ensure that products design owns good technology and the welding technological schemes are reasonable and practical.
  • Be responsible for providing technical support, technical service and continuous improvement on welding in the course of production, and solve welding technological.
  • Select the PWHT process and cycle as and when needed.
  • Prepare and present training programs related to welding activities.
  • Prepare estimates for welding to support comparison of process options eg manual vs. semi-automatic vs. mechanized.
  • Review jobs for suitability of application of mechanized weld processes.
  • Prepares instructions for executing weld repairs as part of NCR process.
  • Undertakes RCA & CA for welding and heat treatment NCR issues.
