We are currently recruiting for Commercial Manager to work in Porton Down (South West)
This is a contract role paying £350 - £380p/d Ltd and is initially a 6 months contract.

Looking for a Contract Temporary Worker to act as Commercial Manager Sales Capability (CMSC) working within Procurement Optimisation Programme (POP).

The role is a short term position (c 6months) with specific responsibility for the optimisation (analysis, definition, development and improvement) of client's Commercial Sales Capability, leading to transition to Business as Usual (BAU) of a well defined Sales Capability encompassing governance, organisation, process, co-ordination, management and reporting across the organisation.

The CMSC will be responsible for the development of a robust management plan to address current and future Sales activities that deals with the support of the full commercial sales cycle, that is; review of opportunities, expression of interest, bid creation and release (including governance) and commercial contract management, such that client is at all times able to clearly articulate profitability and the risk(s) (financial and non-financial) associated with each sales activity. The plan will need to ensure that the placement of Sales contracts via the various Divisional Commercial Teams are made in the most efficient/effective way, helping to identify opportunities for improved VfM and optimisation of Commercial resource(s).

Key responsibilities:

Provision of client Sales Capability Optimisation Plan (to include a plan for transition to business as usual). Redefining/optimising Sales Processes as necessary to ensure delivery of The Division Contract to time, cost and quality.
*Development of a robust Commercial Sales Management Plan, that deals with the support of the full commercial sales cycle, that is; review of opportunities, expression of interest, bid creation and release (including governance), commercial contract management and capture and reporting of risk.
*To act as a "key partner" to the Commercial Business Partners providing strategic advice and guidance on Sales activities.
*Contributes to and influences the short term "Sales" delivery and long term "Sales" planning activities of the Division.
*Provides appropriate Sales/commercial information and advice (forecasts, resourcing plan and other Management Information) to enable appropriate decision making.
*Improves commercial "Sales" awareness by day to day interaction and identification of training needs.
*Establishing and reporting upon extant sales contract defining in aggregate and at contract level revenue, profitability and risk exposure

Experience Required:

*The role therefore requires a strong Commercial Sales Development background to encompass "gate" management, control of commercial risks using appropriate terms and conditions, commercial modelling and revenue and profit forecasting
*Previous experience of defence Sales/Procurement and Project Management, combined with expertise in the engagement of multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation is preferable
*The CMSC is required to provide Management Information (MI) to support key business decisions by various stakeholders, excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills are therefore a prerequisite
