Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a Management Accountant to be based in Shrivenham, Swindon for an initial period of 3 months with possible extension.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Budget Holder to ensuring that understands the financials picture to make good commercial decisions and drive down costs and increase revenue margins.
Ensure shared understanding of cost drivers with Budget Holder and use this data to produce evidence based forecasts on PB&F.
Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial positions (on both Oracle and Sage ledgers) including all necessary sub-ledgers on Sage system. runs both Accounts Payable and Receivables sub-ledgers.
Maintain a suitable trail for budget delegations, spend limits, procurement considerations, segregation of duties, compliance with standards and governance requirements.
Ensure financial information provided to managers is robust to enable them to make informed decisions. Double Entry Journals, book keeping and reconciliation to balance sheets (of both Sage and Oracle systems) SSG Sage system should be reflected on Oracle at a summary level. General Ledger, Oracle and sage100 and Financial Systems, High level of IT skills (excel to intermediate level as a minimum).
Full membership of CCAB accounting institutes, CIMA or recognised equivalent and compliance with Continuing Professional Development requirement of their professional accountancy body.
