Overview

Group Audit has a high profile in today's fast-changing banking environment. Focused on identifying potential risk exposure, we offer vital insights into the adequacy of the design and the operating effectiveness of systems of internal control.

We are a global function with people operating from locations all over the world. Our structure allows the effective audit of the specific risks facing individual businesses and functions. We also work centrally to assess changes in the business and regulatory landscape whilst making sure that emerging risks are reflected in our coverage, methodology and training.

As an Internal Auditor you will be working within the Global Markets audit team with a focus on Electronic Trading. You will be partnering with colleagues within other audit teams and subject matter expert teams such as Operations, Risk, Finance and IT, as part of front-to-back audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks involved in the relevant business areas, in accordance with Group Audit Methodology and the established risk assessment framework
  • Contributing to Risk Assessment Profiles and Continuous Audit Assessment for relevant business areas
  • Implementing dynamic planning through continuous monitoring of the business and risk-based audits, both locally and globally
  • Undertaking audit assignments, drafting audit reports for review by Group Audit management
  • Tracking open audit issues and validating their closure
  • Completing all work assigned on a timely basis, which may include ad-hoc projects and special investigations
  • Communicating orally and in writing the results of the work to clients at all levels
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with colleagues in Group Audit as well as business and related support areas; working in an integrated manner locally and globally
  • Understanding the Corporate Banking and Securities (CBS) marketplace, and developing technical expertise relevant to the industry

You will have:

  • Solid internal auditing experience in a major accountancy firm or investment bank
  • A robust knowledge of capital markets processing
  • Demonstrable experience of Electronic Trading auditing in an investment banking context within an audit or Front Office control environment function
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong business and team relationships
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent project management and planning skills
  • A Degree in accountancy or other equivalent professional qualifications, or equivalent experience
