I have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Customer Segmentation Manager to work for a large Life & Pensions based in Cardiff.

Customer Segmentation Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Cardiff
Rate: £Market rates

In this role your focus will be on the development, delivery and implementation of an accurate, actionable and relevant consumer segmentation covering current clients customers and prospects.
Synthesising segmentation models, analytics and primary research to support and drive profitable business and marketing strategies. The segmentation focussed insights methodology must include processes for embedding and communicating outputs to the wider business and require a person with excellent technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a desire to create profit by focusing on value generating projects.

Key Responsibilities
* To deliver and implement a wide customer & prospect segmentation model, framework and plan
* To provide valuable and actionable customer insights to support business areas and drive profitable marketing and business strategy
* Proactively identify analysis requirements to provide behavioural, transactional, demographic and experiential metrics.
* Identify trends within the data, highlighting these to the relevant business areas for action.
* Liaise with external companies to deliver detailed insights when appropriate.
* Present findings of segmentation outputs to internal customers and act as a consultant making recommendations on how performance can be improved.

Skills & Experience required:
*Must be a creative collaborator who can lead both internal and external teams through both the Segmentation project life cycle. Experience in implementation, managing large, cross-functional projects and teams
*Lead as a critical thinker using data and business acumen to make sound decisions, even with incomplete information
*Works to raise consumer and analytic understanding in the business, in a continual learning environment
*Possess a broad business acumen that allows engagement in the entire business needs, including market analytics, consumer and market trends.
*Experience in both qualitative and quantitative techniques
*Strong ability to influence and lead teams as well as a story telling ability
*Planning & Organising - Ability to plan, execute and implement a customer segmentation solution across different functions (including data management/MI, customer profiling/targeting, proposition/product development, marketing communications, etc) and different business units & channels (including Direct to Customer, Intermediary). Must be able to plan and prioritise work and have a high level of organisation to ensure deadlines are met. Priorities can change easily, the jobholder must be able to be flexible and adaptable.
*Technical Skills - Experience of developing and implementing customer segmentation methodologies and outputs across complex business. Excellent knowledge of analytical and research techniques used to produce segmented views of markets, prospects, customers and value.
*Attention to detail - It is essential that this person has a good eye for detail and be able to identify patterns/trends in analysis and research
*Oral & Written Communication - A high standard of both oral and written communication skills are required as the role involves dealing with a number of internal customers and external suppliers at all levels. Must be able to able to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to the client.
*Education - a degree with at least a mathematical and statistical element preferable.
