Description

Quality Function Development Manager required for 12 months contract in Hertfordshire for multi national defence company.

Promote and implement Quality functional development and improvement initiatives and plans within the international Quality community in accordance with the latest quality paradigm; innovate mechanisms with stakeholders to sustain and reinforce Quality skills and knowledge at company and operational level; manage significant Quality communication events

Accountabilities:
Product Quality Assurance Skills and Competencies (S&C) - Develop the Programme Management Plan and implement to sustain and reinforce strategic Quality skills & capabilities at company-level in response to identified customer needs and expectations. Act as the catalyst with Group Heads of Quality to transform the skill and behavioural competence at the Domain/Profession/Job level in accordance with the requirements of latest Quality paradigm improvement programme.
Quality training rejuvenation - to analyze international benchmark indicators and implement the project response to enhance (and deliver where appropriate) the content and attractiveness of newcomer Quality Assurance training and development solutions across. Engage with international HR and Quality specialists to ensure local cultural and legal obligations are conformed to regarding new Quality training and development content and delivery mechanisms
Quality Functional Communications - Be the architect of inspirational campaigns and materials to enhance the visibility and attractiveness of Quality Directorate at Innovation Corners, Roadshows, Recruitment and Training events etc. as required by the Group Quality Director. Deliver, by collaboration at Director and executive levels, innovative annual International Quality BOM Conferences and national Quality Information Forums
Virtual QFD - realize the conceptual design and page designs to rejuvenate and transform the QFD website into a focused, attractive and valued user experience in 3 languages. Develop the future Quality Discipline career Pathway on Engineering career development site in consultation with Quality, HR and Technical executives.
Business area proximity facilitation - Facilitate effective Group Quality Directorate UK proximity management, by ensuring delivery and evidence of the effective and on-time implementation of Team-brief cascade, Team-building events and HR People Management meetings within the Quality Directorate in UK. Act as the interface between Group Quality Directorate UK and UK national entity teams in place to provide specialist advice, support and resource

Skills and Knowledge:
Dynamic, self-driven operational manager with experience of people competency development preferably in a quality management environment
Influential communicator with excellent presentation preparation & delivery capability; and successful engagement at Director level
Knowledge of external resources and mechanisms associated with people competency development
Good business understanding and able to contribute strategically at company level
Understanding of cultural differences
Able to plan and deliver achievement through others
Some understanding of Quality methodologies and skills used in engineering systems, sub-systems & eqpt development and manufacture an advantage
