Web Designer
Location: Exeter, Devon
Duration: 6 months+
NB: Candidates must be eligible to undergo security clearance process for this role.
Overview of Role:
The primary focus of the role will be the delivery of web design to meet customer requirements. Including user interface design, requirements elicitation and capture and web design. As part of our ongoing IT strategy, you will work at the cutting edge of technology and innovation.
You will:
Create user flows, sketching, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, information architecture and user interface solutions across different platforms.
Have the ability to validate work by performing interviews and usability testing with user.
Produce user interaction and style guides for project work to enable development and will be able to liaise with stakeholders within the business to extract requirements, present work and 'sell' recommendations effectively. Additionally, the candidate will be able to promote and assist in implementing a user experience and user centred design approach to projects and will be expected to provide estimates & timescales for user centred design to be implemented into projects. The successful candidate will also be expected to show drive and to encourage the flow of fresh ideas and industry innovations.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
An understanding of User Centred Design (UCD) methodology;
Solid design skills and ability to use industry standard software (Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator);
Experience of the web development using including HTML5 and CSS;3
Experience building relationships with key stakeholders - extracting requirements, presenting work & making recommendations.
