Description

We are seeking a contract UI/UX Website Designer to work with our Marketing team. The UI/UX Website Designer’s main responsibility will be to re-design the JoVE website interface from concept to development. This candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of user and buyer personas, and be able to effectively communicate design processes and concepts to internal stakeholders. The UI/UX Website Designer will construct the look, feel, layout, navigation and structure of our website while enhancing its existing properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and IT to define design directions for the website visuals and user experience interface
  • Research and explore different design options
  • Design, develop and implement wireframes, visual mockup, interactive prototype, layout, user flows, process flows, navigation structure, and site maps
  • Research, experiment, and revise prototypes
  • Translate design concepts to HTML/CSS/JavaScript to hand off to web development team
  • Work closely with the development team to implement final design
  • Generate ideas to simplify complex design into user friendly interfaces
  • Develop digital assets to enhance lead generation with website pages, landing pages, microsites, case studies, whitepapers, emails, online advertising graphics, social media graphics, infographics and more…
  • Work with Marketing to develop branding and style guidelines

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years web and/or graphic design experience
  • Ability to translate the latest website standards and best practices into a user friendly, modern and visually compelling website design
  • Strong visual design skills
  • Knowledge of the latest graphic design trends, color and typography.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Proficiency in CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, or jQuery
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders using both technical and non-technical language
  • Experience in usability design, navigation design, online content organization, information architecture/taxonomy creation and search optimization.
  • Ability to be open to creative insight, feedback, and criticism from leadership and other members within the organization
  • Ability to work within deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
