The Operations Role:
Reporting to the IT Facilities & Command Centre Services Manager, the key responsibilities of the role will include:
Knowledge and Experience:
The successful candidate ideally should have:
- A third level IT qualification
- Strong communication skills: effective verbal and written communication skills of both technical and business nature
- Good analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to deal with business clients
- An ability to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlines
- A strong technical acumen and problem solving skills
- An inquisitive nature to query other team members/IT areas on specific technology or business issues in order to build up their own knowledge
- A natural interest in technology
In addition to the items above, familiarity with some or all of the following systems would be an advantage:
- IBM TWS/IWS Scheduling Tools or Job Schedulers like ControlM (must have)
- EMC Networker Backup & Recovery Software
- IBM iSeries (AS400)
- Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager
- CA Nimbus Monitoring Software
- Z/OS Mainframe Operating System
- FTP - File transfer
- Connect Direct - File transfer
- Knowledge of Windows, Office and Exchange
- An understanding of Monitoring, Capacity and Performance Management
- An understanding of Backup & Recovery processes and technology
