Oracle DBA (Exadata) - Luxembourg

Languages: ENGLISH only

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Certified Oracle (10g/11g/12c) or equivalent on experience
  • Knowledge of RMAN, Oracle RAC and Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL developer
  • Exadata administration and patching/maintenance knowledge
  • Other Rdbms (SQL Server, Sybase, DB2) knowledge considered an asset
  • Minimum of 7 years in the Database domain especially as Oracle DBA
  • Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service management (roles and processes)
  • Team player with excellent written and communication skills and can demonstrate this with the ability to present ideas and technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences in a user-friendly language
  • Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, perseverance, patience and flexibility
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working with a variety of people
  • Desire to exceed project, client and co-worker expectations and be goal oriented with keen attention to detail

Description of work:

  • System administration of Oracle databases platforms
  • Perform Oracle database installation and configuration, tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups/recovery and change management
  • Follow-up of incidents, problems, changes related to this platform
  • Troubleshoot issues with database instances and eliminates root causes through systematic problem management practices
  • First and second level support for Oracle and other RDBMS
  • Follow the technological evolution in the field of the computing closely
  • Assist in maintaining and improving and innovation Oracle platform
  • Follow-up rules and the respect for quality, KPI, security baselines and system policies
  • Provide strategic advice to the hierarchy, to colleagues, to project teams and customers
  • Examine and study customer needs
  • Provide advice during projects conceptual phases
  • Give advice during implementation of new processes or the modifications of existing ones
