My client urgently requires a Software Configuration Analyst to join a global system integration organisation.
* Candidates need to undergo the SC clearance process which wont affect their start date.*
The Software Configuration Analyst is required to undertake the following:
> Define and Implement Software Configuration Management processes to control the storage, retention and baselining of Configuration Items, manage packages of CIs for release and deployment, and maintain version control of CIs within a number of formal repositories, following industry standard CM principles including CMMI.
> Define and Implement Change Management processes to control Change Requests and construct releases using appropriate version control ensuring that all packages contain mandated changes.
> Work with development teams to ensure correct CM tool usage to capture and control Configuration Items
> Co-ordinate consistent baselines across multiple CM toolsets
> Define Release Content ensuring only baselined products are released to environments
> Perform local CM verification activities
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
> Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
> Minimum of 2 years' experience of Software Configuration Management in large software development projects.
> Experience of Software Configuration Management toolsets eg Subversion, GIT, Perforce and StarTeam;
> Experience of software development life cycle methodologies, including Agile.
> Good understanding of Configuration Management principles and industry standards eg CMMI and ITIL.
> Good verbal and written communication skills.
> Pro-active and enthusiastic Self-Starter with ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
> Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently
Desirable Skills:
> Administrator experience of Software Configuration Management toolsets
> Knowledge of Change and Test tools.
> Experience working in the Financial or Public sector
