The Job: Mainframe Administrator
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Rate: 350 to 450 a day
Duration: 6 months rolling contract
The Job:
- DB2 Admin - Create table, views, indexes, aliases and synonyms, navigate TSO environment,knowledge on DB2 commands, solving contention/deadlock issues, performunload/load utilities with all options, understand basic errors in database master log, bind/rebind plans and packages, development and execution of DB2 utility jobs, Incident, problem and change management.

Your skills:
- Strong knowledge on Installation, upgrade and maintenance of OS and ISV tools,sound knowledge on HMC, knowledge on CICS system programming, defining Logon procedures, capacity planning and performance tuning, DASD management, strong knowledge on problem and change management, debugging skills, in-depth knowledge and experience with IBM, BMC and CA tools.
- Strong knowledge on DR activities, knowledge on user management, monitor system performance through tools, strong communication skills, liaising with client for any process issue, strong knowledge on incident and problem management, knowledge on escalation resolving capability.Should Manage iSeries Servers for the Production, Backup (HA) and Development Servers/LPARs. Should perform Program Temporary Fix (PTF) installation for OS and software tools, LPAR Administration, HA management, iSeries Network Administration, IBM Director Administration, Provide technical support to the Production Control & Batch Scheduling team, Job Scheduling (UC4 Scheduler & IBM Native Scheduler), WebSphere configuration and support, System Performance Tuning & Capacity Planning, Work Management, OS Software Installation, Upgrade and Maintenance, 3rd Party Software Installation and Maintenance,Manage Backup and Recovery using BRMS, Manage and Secure Network Connectivity & Communications, Support Project design and implementation, Vendor Co-ordination for hardware break-fix, HW/SW installation/upgrades, Provide Technical Support for Business System Architecture Planning & Design
- Strong knowledge in Mainframe storage management,CICS System Programming, Work Load Management. troubleshooting all the problems related to software and Hardware. Should be able to support iSeries Network Administration,System Performance Tuning & Capacity Planning, LPAR Administration, Advanced knowledge using & administering MIMIX or any other HA replication software,Average Scripting skills in CL required,Debug minor database problems and apply fixes if necessary.Work with vendor for technical support if necessary.
- IMS-DB - Basic Knowledge of IMS-DB Basic Syntax Hierarchical DBMS Subsystems Control Blocks Error handling Knowledge of application development by using IMS
