An exciting opportunity for an Interface Designer is available in Brussels, major center for international politics and home of numerous international organizations, politicians, diplomats and civil servants.
This position is offered as a long term freelance contract.
Nature of tasks:
- Analysis of the user interface requirements;
- Design and propose visual prototypes;
- Identification and provision of improved solutions for the Knowledge Management platform mostly regarding the review of usability requirements and the redesign of the user interface;
- Work in close cooperation with the knowledge management team to identify and analyse the requirements in terms of user interface, support and propose improvements in the new platform in Confluence, in terms of usability and ergonomics.
The consultant will report to the official in charge of the Knowledge Management project within the Development and Operations sector.
Knowledge and expertise required:
- At least 13 years of higher studies + professional experience;
- Knowledge of designing web based applications and graphical tools;
- Proven knowledge in web technologies in particular HTML and XML;
- Strong knowledge to design friendly user interfaces in Confluence (mainly) and additionally in SharePoint;
- Ability to design friendly user interface in Office automation and in particular in Excel;
- Very good knowledge on user interface ergonomics;
- Excellent inter-personal communication skills and team spirit;
- Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment;
- Excellent knowledge of English.
Specific expertise required:
At least 9 years of cumulated specific professional experience in web interface design:
- 6 years' experience in Confluence based-platforms
- 3 years' experience in SharePoint based-platforms.
