Scrum Master (Digital Transformation for GDS)

The Opportunity:

Due to a high volume of upcoming projects within our client's organisation, we are now looking to attract candidates for this very exciting opportunity to manage a new software development project across a broad range of technologies. We are looking for candidates that have demonstrable experience as a Scrum Master and must have excellent Stakeholder engagement and management skills. In addition to this excellent Risk Management and the effective management of multiple project service providers and vendors is essential. The roles are based in Edinburgh and are for an initial 6 months paying market rates.

Skills and Experience:

Candidates must have extensive experience working as a Scrum Master with significant exposure managing complex global digital integration technology projects; including end-to-end testing and API testing. Additionally, you will have a passion for business, UX, strategy and development and a real passion and drive for Agile, putting your faith within Agile methods and practices and having dealt with the limitations, found ways to overcome limitations to continue your development as an evangelist.

  • Ideally you will hold a relevant certification: CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PSM (Professional Scrum Master)
  • Understanding or Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe, LeSS)
  • Knowledge of emerging digital technologies/platforms would be highly beneficial, including: Web Content Management (Adobe AEM, Sitecore, OpenText, Drupal, Wordpress)
  • Order Management and Fulfilment
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Digital Fulfilment and Digital Supply Chain
  • Web Analytics (Google, Omniture/SiteCatalyst)
  • Multi-device support (iOS, Android, smart phones, tablet, desktop, console, set-top box)
  • Content Delivery Networks (CDN)

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse their current Agile processes, prioritize areas of improvement, and work alongside key stakeholders to implement the improvements
  • Facilitate/participate in key Agile rituals across Scrum teams
  • Coach team members as needed, including resolving conflict
  • Communicate project risks
  • Manage projects in JIRA and Confluence; providing software training to team members
  • Monitor and report on key Agile performance metrics to leadership team
  • Assist in training team members and other employees on Agile and Design thinking concepts
