My client is a financial company who is looking for a SAP Business Objects XI Platform Administrator to join their growing group. The successful candidate will work within a small team of professionals whom are responsible for the installation, administration and support of these platforms, with a key skill of Informatica Powercenter Administration.

Role Summary

The role is within the Products Team which supports and implements a diverse range of software products that enable the company to analyse and report upon business processes that span across applications, people, and multiple Back End systems.

For this role an advanced working technical knowledge and experience administering Informatica Powercenter Administration is required. Experience administering SAS, Qlikview and SAP Business Objects will also be advantageous.

The candidate must be able to fix faults, identify enhancements and manage the Powercenter environments as well as take ownership of tasks they have been set and work well with other team members, be required to act in a consultancy capacity to other team members in order to share specialist knowledge, and be expected to solve infrastructure problems and issues. Good communication and technical writing skills are essential as candidate will be working closely with many teams across different levels of management.

Experience managing software installations on Unix and Linux in an enterprise environment is required.

A working knowledge of how to connect server software to external sources is also required. Installation or configuration of Oracle client, DB2 client and ODBC client technologies is required. Some Shell Scripting will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist and technical expertise of Informatica Powercenter 9.x
  • Installation, configuration and support of Informatica Powercenter 9.x
  • Performance monitoring and tuning of infrastructure
  • Analyse and remediate any incidents within agreed SLAs
  • Close liaison and working relationships with application development teams, suppliers and internal systems management and support teams
  • Problem solving and resolution of complex issues
  • Operate flexibly both as a member of the team and independently
  • Deployment of report and universes following development life cycle
  • Migration of objects between versions of the product
