Oracle PL/SQL Developer
The Opportunity:
ISR are working with a multinational company with a presence in six European countries, the US and India. And the Group are now looking for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer/Analyst to take on the role of managing and development of its company-critical core internal oracle forms application to be based out of their offices in Singapore. The essential knowledge and experience required is Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Forms and Reports plus some Perl (intermediate level) Scripting experience, combined with a proven track record of internal customer support, requirements gathering and analysis, program design and implementation. Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years working with Oracle Forms and Reports (version 10 or 11) in a commercial environment
- Mature and proven development, integration and support experience over a wide range of technologies in support of critical Real Time applications with all the pressure that implies.
- Experience of most aspects of the software development life cycle
- Experience of Windows, Windows Server, Linux
- Good Business Analysis and Database Design skills
- An up-to-date knowledge of PL/SQL including the varied uses of Packages, Object Types and Collections
Any experience programming for Excel in Visual Basic, programming Linux Shell Scripts, developer-level DBA experience and some understanding of how Oracle Weblogic works would also be helpful. System level support and hosting is handled by an external company, so the candidate should also have some experience of interfacing and collaborating with external companies. The candidate should be aware of national and international data security standards and be aware of the principles of ISO standard ISO27001.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance in the mentioned technologies
- Database and Application infrastructure analysis and design in relation to issues arising for the group
- Collaborating with other IT professionals in the group in whatever way the directors indicate
- Source code maintenance and security
- Collaborating with core users about the future direction of the oracle system
- Understanding ISO27001 as far as it relates to data security within the group in collaboration with the group standards officer
