A large Utilities organisation based in the East Midlands require a Management Accountant/Gross Margin Manager with a proven track record of driving change, accounting and reporting.

Location - East Midlands

Duration 6 months

Essential skill requirements

  • A professional accountancy qualification.
  • A demonstrable track record in a similar role, including a good working knowledge of the payment process and control frameworks.
  • Proven people management and leadership experience with aptitude of developing people.
  • The ability to handle and interpret large volumes of data using a variety of techniques such as pivot tables and charts.
  • An aptitude for working under high pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills - you'll know how to influence outcomes by conveying your ideas clearly and compellingly to senior managers.
  • An innovative approach, especially when it comes to developing new approaches and adapting methods to provide insight and practical operational information.
  • A strong aptitude for control processes and attention to detail

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of electricity and gas industry processes and an understanding of how these influence gross margin accounting and reporting.
  • A good understanding of 'retailing' systems with a proven understanding of how these can be utilised in gross margin accounting.
  • An understanding of the energy market and the external influences which impact energy prices and other gross margin costs.
