Description

A leading Renewable Energy client is looking for x2 consultants to work back to back as Offshore Array Cables Termination Supervisor for their offshore wind farm project. The Offshore Array Cables Termination Supervisors will be responsible for supervising and quality checking the termination of offshore array cables and connection equipment. This is expected to be a 7 month freelance project, expected to start 1st July 2016 up until approx. 31st January 2017, with the possibility of extending further thereafter. The Consultants shift pattern will be 12 hours a day/7 days a week for two weeks on duty followed by a two weeks off duty period.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspection of array cable systems at each offshore locations
  • Witness VLF, sheath and OTDR testing, as well as other cable or termination test that might be required
  • Ensure that the contractor prepares and delivers a complete documentation of the works and services carried out according to contract and project record management systems
  • To comply with and enforce the clients HSE requirements
Tasks:
  • QA/QC inspections of termination work
  • Daily progress report to array cable manager
  • Allocation of assets/resources
  • Daily progress reporting review and update
  • Update progress table
  • Project documentation according to project records management
  • Permit to work requests (safety rules)
  • Availability of SAP's for switching activities
  • Cable testing activities including availability of necessary test equipment
  • Handover Certification
  • Collect weather data
  • QA/QC inspections to include punch list and follow up
  • Non Conformance/Damage Defect Notifications
  • Cable installation contractor interfaces
  • WTG, FOU and OSS package interfaces
  • Daily phone call/issue brief memo to array cable manager
  • End of shift passing over report
  • Review all testing documentation and confirm if results are acceptable or not
Qualifications/Essential skill:
Must have valid GWO Certification: 
  • Sea Farers Offshore Medical
  • One day First Aid Course
  • Firefighting course
  • Sea survival and transfer training
  • Climbing and rescue at heights training
  • Confined Space training
  • Helicopter transfer
Desirable:
  • MV jointing training or experience
  • VLF Testing training or experience
  • OTDR testing training or experience
  • Safe work in HV substation environments
  • Safe work in LV substation environments

Special Provisions:
The consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 and his/her own mobile telephone
The consultant must bring his/her own PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
