Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for 2 Health & Safety Engineers to work on its offshore wind farm project. Our client is looking for the first HSE (Health & Safety Engineer) to be able to start this approx. 12 months freelance role from the 4th July 2016 with the other HSE starting August 2016, there is the possibility that this role may extend further thereafter. Shift pattern: 12 hrs a day (no night shifts) 14 days on duty followed by 7 days off duty.
Responsibilities:  
  • Implementation and Q/A of the HSE management systems and reporting systems including potential site specific instructions
  • Planning, executing and documenting HSE activities and results using agreed procedures
  • Efficient Site HSE Team support to:
  • Project organisation
  • Site organisations
  • Contractors
  • Demonstrate commitment to develop HSE activities within Site HSE
  • Role model a safety culture that promotes effective management of HSE

Tasks:
Contribute to:

  • Planning and coordination of HSE activities and responsibilities
  • Standardisation of Site HSE deliverables
  • Planning, execution and follow-up on HSE activities/registrations
  • Supervision, control and reporting on contractor related
  • Risk assessments and method statements
  • HSE arrangements & construction activities
  • Overall safety performance
  • Design risk assessments
  • Incident analysis
  • Audits/evaluation
  • Ad hoc duties as required
Qualification:
  • Relevant academic or technical background
  • Educated to GSCE level or similar, with basic knowledge on HSE issues
  • Completed IOSH course or NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction to certificate level
  • Preferable completed NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction to diploma level
  • Must be able to demonstrate work experience with HSE, ideally in a construction environment
  • Investigation of health, safety related issues, with experience in fostering a good health and safety culture
  • Experience in construction design and management would be an advantage, from offshore wind projects or from engineering
  • Must have an aptitude for working at heights and offshore, as visit to offshore wind turbines on a frequent basis
  • Must have good communication skills and a good knowledge of working with MS Office software.
