DESCRIPTION:
- Seeking a web developer to analyze, recommend, develop, support and enhance software solutions required to meet the business objectives. To contribute business and technical knowledge for relatively complex IT projects and initiatives.
- With supervision, completes well designed systems of high quality that make appropriate use of technology
- Participates in the development, implementation and testing plans
- Responsible for maintaining currency in technological trends and directions continually upgrading personal technical and IT related skills through research, education and self-motivated technology experimentation
- Participates in new technology investigation and makes recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate
SKILLS:
- Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience
- Good knowledge of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques
- Experience in the full project life cycle - from conception to completion
- Strong design skills (OOP/SOA/EDA), with a focus on Event Driven patterns
- Expertise needed in the following or equivalent technologies: C# (including WCF/RESTful Web services), PL/SQL, Oracle 11g, Visual Studio 2010+
- Design/Development experience using Microsoft MVC/Web API (including deployment & hosting on IIS)
- Web UI experience using HTML5, JavaScript (POJO and/or AngularJS, jQuery), CSS, JSON
- Experience in various software development methodologies and Agile development practices; Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery (SCM, automated builds, artifact management)
- Must have good communication skills
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Nice to have; working knowledge of: SharePoint (CMS and development platform)
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with systems professionals, as well as end users who are not systems experts
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and produce a significant volume of work
- Resourcefulness, creativity and good judgment
- Ability to provide technical and problem solving assistance to other staff
- Skill in presenting/demonstrating technical and project related concepts to a varied audience
