Job Overview

Client is looking for an experienced, bi-lingual (English, Japanese) Senior IT M&A Program Manager based out of Tokyo, Japan to manage post acquisition technology integration activities for a recently acquired entity in Japan. Working with key members of the Global IT team, the responsibilities for this role require managing technology integration activities across several IT functions like Applications, Infrastructure & Information Security. This is a 12-month contract position that may result into a permanent role within the IT organization. This role will report to the Vice President of the IT Program Management Office in the United States.

The tentative start date for the assignment will be early late June 2016

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the overall integration Program Management Office as the IT representative.
  • Provide program management of overall IT integration activities for acquired company.
  • Develop and manage project plan, and coordinate activities of projects with various IT and business stakeholders to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Provides overall program leadership, guidance, and manages requirements and scope
  • of the programs
  • Work cross-functionally and leverage the expertise of the subject matter experts from each IT functional team to develop the plan
  • Manages project communications to IT and Business stakeholders across all project teams (Communication vehicles include status reports, team meetings, meeting minutes, e-mails, key documents, etc.)
  • Act as a key liaison between the business and IT to ensure alignment with IT integration objectives
  • Work with IT stakeholders and develop program reporting and status reporting to working team and senior management
  • Manage project team tasks, assumptions, deliverables, dependencies and issue resolution, and escalate when appropriate
  • Assist in tracking metrics, documenting processes, and managing M&A program Share Point sites.
  • Act as intermediary between local Japan team and corporate IT stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or Computer Science,

Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience is preferred.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Japanese
  • Must have ability to engage and communicate to all levels of the organization
  • More than five years of IT program management experience or equivalent is required.
  • More than three years of IT M&A integration experience desired.
  • Must have demonstrated ability for independent decision making, supporting large customer groups, and managing highly visible large-scale projects
  • Must have demonstrated ability to assume higher-level leadership roles and responsibilities

in critical/crucial situations.

  • Must be able to deliver work efficiently through formal and informal channels and display broad understanding of business & technology practices
  • Must have ability to work well in a matrixed organization that is extremely fast paced with heavy competition for scarce resources
  • Must have ability to drive results through influence in a matrixed organization
  • Must have ability to drive cross-functional issues to resolution and escalate to senior management when appropriate.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and potentially some weekends
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access
  • May require up to 25% travel and the ability to expense travel costs prior to reimbursement
