Description

Cloud Infrastructure Services seeks a self-driven engineer to play a vital role in implementation and operation of hosting environments leveraging virtualization, automation and orchestration technologies.

This position requires knowledge of all aspects of data center hosting including server, storage and networking principles and architecture.

The ability to work closely with IT architects and senior engineers in the architectural design, analysis and application integration work for new deployments is also required.

This role will be responsible for supporting one or more core platform services such as DNS, OpenStack, Ceph and Linux.

This position demands maintaining a high-level of expertise within the aligned technologies of the program.

Role & Responsibilities

- Lead and drive global collaboration and DevOps rituals (eg, daily live hand-off, etc.)

- Linux OS system administration experience

- Provide advanced troubleshooting of OS and hardware components

- Ability to perform L1-L3 network troubleshooting within Linux

- Scripting experience, preferably python

- Experience in designing and managing large server environments

- Knowledge of current industry best practices in Cloud infrastructure and system automation

- OpenStack deployment experience

- Experience with IaaS and PaaS layer technologies, particularly with OpenStack

- Ability to set architectural and tactical direction based on strategic needs

- Trend analysis on performance and growth with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana

- Automation tools experience (ansible, puppet)

- Familiar with version control tools, particularly with Git

- Keen to learn new technologies

- Ability to handle on-call responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

- Outstanding customer interaction skills required

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Ability to work across cultures and time zones

- Typically requires BS/BA in related field and at least 2 years relevant experience
