Python Systems Programmer: HTMl5, JavaScript, Pycharm, Django, Apache JY/2755
One of our Defence Public sector client is seeking a Python Developer to assist in the installing, customising and maintaining the operating systems and applications.
The Python Systems Programmer is also required to research and examine software capabilities and operations, which may include task scheduling, memory management, file system and input/output requirements. Testing and modifying systems to ensure that they operate reliably. Training system operators and application programmers as required will also be a necessary task of the Python Systems programmer.
As this role requires an SC level of clearance in order to work on site applicants must have either held the same or higher in a previous role.
Essential Python Systems Programmer skills
- Experience and track record of coding using the python programming language (v2.7 or later)
- Experience and track record of coding using the Object Oriented paradigm
- Experience and track record of using the Linux environment
- Experience and track record of developing simulation models with a Defence application
Desirable Python Systems Programmer skills
- Experience of key libraries within the python language, specifically, but not limited to, SciPy and NumPy.
- Experience of programming using the object functional paradigm
- Experience using the Pycharm integrated development environment
- Experience of campaign modelling
- Experience of application of Genetic algorithms and specifically genetic programming to operational research problems
- Experience of other optimisation methods
- Experience and track record of web based GUI development and methods, eg Django, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience of using the agile software development methodology
- Experience of behavioural driven development approach and tools eg "Behave"
- Use of code documentation tools such as "Sphinx"
- Knowledge of the Defence environment, particularly the dynamics of military campaigns and their analysis.
- Experience of setting up and running an Apache server
